Liverpool midfielder Emre Can insists Liverpool are back to their best following Saturday's 3-1 victory over Everton.
Following a run of just one victory in seven league games throughout January and February, Liverpool went through March unbeaten and started April by winning the Merseyside derby in style.
The Reds' success in the 228th edition means Jurgen Klopp's side have taken 10 points from their past four matches, strengthening their challenge to qualify for the Champions League next season.
It has not been secured [with this result] but it is our target to play in the Champions League," said Can.
In December, January and February was not our best football but now we are back, we did it in the last couple of games.
"It was very important to win that game. There are still eight games to go and we have to keep it up."
The win moved Liverpool to third above Manchester City, who face Arsenal on Super Sunday, one of two games in hand they hold on Jurgen Klopp's side.
Liverpool have no remaining opponents currently above eighth place, while their Champions League-chasing rivals all have to play at least one other of the top six.
