12 teams will descend to the USA on November 4 and 5 for the Silicon Valley Sevens to be hosted by the USA Sevens.
Eight core teams from the HSBC World Sevens Series will be joined by European champions Ireland, China, Chile and Tonga.
The Silicon Valley 7s will be held just under one month to 2017/2018 World Sevens Series opener, Dubai 7s.
The eight are Mike Friday’s USA, England, Canada, Samoa, Fiji, Australia, Japan and New Zealand.
Pool A has Vancouver and Cape Town 7s champions England, Singapore 7s champions Canada, Samoa and Ireland.
Gold medalists Fiji are in pool B with Australia, Japan and China while the hosts USA will play New Zealand, Chile and Tonga in pool D.
Sevens Series teams that are not part of the Silicon Valley 7s are Argentina, Spain, Wales, South Africa, Scotland, France and Kenya.
The field will mark the first time that squads from the Island nations of Tonga, Samoa and Fiji, will be in the same field since the 2007 USA Sevens.
It is also the first time the Irish National Sevens squad will play in the United States and will be the last international tune-up for rising nations Canada and the United States, as well as traditional powers like New Zealand, Japan and Australia, as they ready for the 2017-18 HSBC World Sevens Series.
The Silicon Valley 7’s will also mark the first time the Chinese National team will appear in the United States.
