Arsene Wenger has denied claims that a key member of his coaching staff is set to leave the club, describing the reports as “fake news”.
There were a number of reports knocking around this week that Gunners first-team coach Boro Primorac was set to leave the club, but Wenger, speaking at his usual Thursday morning press conference quickly shot down the claims
“That’s a complete invention,” he said. “It’s good today to take information without checking anything.”
And in a phrase that has become synonymous with President of the United States, Donald Trump, after he used it in his first address as POTUS, Wenger concluded his denial with the statement: “Fake news.”
Wenger was then asked about the latest rumours linking Hector Bellerin with a return to Barcelona.
When asked if he is aware of reported interest from the Catalans, he responded: “No. We have just extended his contract and he has an unbelievable amount of years to go.”
